Rafael BenÃtez
Reports strongly suggest that Rafael Benitez is set to be appointed the next Chelsea FC manager as a replacement for former coach Roberto Di Matteo.
Di Matteo was shown the red card from
the London club’s management on November 21, 2012 after the latter felt the ‘team’s recent performances and results have not been good enough’.
Former Liverpool FC boss Benitez is expected to be handed a short-term contract by the European champions and will serve as interim coach. ‘I have to talk with my agent and see what he has been doing the last couple of days.
But I am just trying to go to a team that
can win. So we will find ways to have a challenge like this’, Benitez told Goal.com
when asked about the job
‘In football a lot of people are talking so we will see what happens in the next few days. I am looking for a club that can challenge for trophies and Chelsea is one of these clubs’, he continued. Benitez has coached the likes of Valencia FC, Inter Milan and Liverpool.
